Cloud in Woollahra
Ode to Alba by Stafford Architecture is a considered contemporary home shaped by its connection to the natural landscape. Tucked among native flora and weathered sandstone in Sydneyβs Eastern Suburbs, the residence brings together clean architectural lines, expansive glazing and a rich palette of natural materials. Warm timber, stone and concrete create a refined backdrop for the ownersβ art collection, while carefully framed views and generous openings establish a seamless relationship between the home and its surrounding bushland.
A defining feature of the home is the extensive use of our Cloud timber flooring across the ceilings, laid in 90mm-wide boards to create a fine, rhythmic texture overhead. The timber continues throughout the interiors in 260mm-wide boards, extending through to the stair treads and creating a sense of continuity across the home. The contrast in board proportions adds subtle variation while maintaining a cohesive material language, bringing warmth, texture and natural character to the residenceβs refined architectural palette.
