The Local Project

Located on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula, Barwon Heads House by Adam Kane Architects sees an old weatherboard house transformed into a minimalist home by a contemporary extension that both sympathises and contrasts with the original house on site. Playing with the elements of dark and light, the minimalist architecture utilises dark concrete and metal together with custom-stained timber from Made by Storey, resulting in an interior that is simultaneously constrained and carefree, shadowy and bright.
