Sand in Bellevue Hill
Natasha Oakley and Theo Chambers’ Bellevue Hill residence is a study in quiet classicism, where the timelessness of French and English interiors meets a relaxed Australian sensibility. Designed alongside Phoebe Nicol and Weir Phillips Architects, the home draws inspiration from the couple’s travels and favourite hotels across Paris, London and Los Angeles, balancing heritage cues with contemporary softness. Wrought iron detailing, elegant French doors and softly layered interiors create a home that feels elevated yet deeply liveable — a private retreat designed for entertaining, retreating and everyday life.
Central to the home’s material palette is Sand, a bespoke timber floor colour custom developed in collaboration with Natasha Oakley. Installed throughout in classic herringbone parquetry, the flooring brings warmth, texture and quiet character to the interiors, grounding layers of marble, oak joinery and plaster finishes with an organic softness. Rich yet understated, Sand was designed to feel timeless from the outset — a colour with presence that anchors the home’s refined European influence while remaining warm, tactile and distinctly Australian.
